Chauffeurs drive clients from place to place, making sure their journey is safe and comfortable, and that they arrive on time. A variety of benefits are cited for using chauffeurs, including convenience, productivity, and time-saving, as well as driving safety for businesspeople and seniors. Insurance costs for luxury vehicles are often lower if the designated driver is a chauffeur.

It is worth noting that some chauffeurs will provide their own vehicle as part of their offering.

A female chauffeur may be referred to as a chauffeuse. The minimum requirement to become a chauffeur is a full, clean driving licence.

Training

In addition to the minimum legal requirements, Midas sources chauffeurs with years of experience and prefers to represent individuals that have completed training courses. These courses may involve evasive driving or defensive driving techniques, the proper methods to ensure safety in the most extreme conditions such as inclement weather, a flat tyre at high speeds, or other exterior influences for loss of vehicular control. Chauffeurs may be taught proper etiquette for use when they are in presence of their clientele. They may also be trained for services to the client beyond the car itself, such as for a personal valet or bodyguard.
Pay
Average salary (a year) ranges from £14,000 for starters, to £60,000 for experienced drivers.
Working hours can be weekends, evenings and bank holidays and trips away from home are all to be expected.
Dress

Most employers will require a well-groomed chauffeur, conservatively dressed in a clean dark business suit, or a tuxedo and dress shirt, an appropriately matching tie, black leather gloves and freshly polished footwear. Some employers require hats to be worn. Midas will provide a chauffeur to match your requirements, which may include multilingual skills.
